As I read chapter 3 in our book, I thought about how much kids would enjoy blogging for an assignment, attached to some objective of course. I am really thinking about how I could use this in my curriculum. I think as time goes on and I become more familiar with it myself, I'll find plenty of possibilities. I teach language arts, so I think I'll be able to fit it in easily.

I realize that I have to acquiesce to the norm of students--the electronic media. Blogging seems to be a path that I can take and am comfortable doing so. A Blog would be a great way for students to communicate with each other and with the teacher!
I can see blog and wiki potential, too, which will certainly clarify (no glasses necessary) as my experience allows. The dark side of my past (it’s not confessional time…yet=) imagines blogging offences and sabotage or perhaps just hurt feelings? I’ll plan a round of stiff “netiquette” and post a death threat to keep the peace, for when hope doesn’t realize the end, she swings a mallet. Someone famous said that I’m sure.
I agree that the blog is something I can get behind. I thought the teacher controlled blog mentioned in Reinventing where the kids got to publish when the teacher was satisfied with the writing was a good use of our high tech possibilities. Revision is so hard to get the students to buy into.
