It could have something to do with the fact that I missed class the day this was covered, but I don't understand what widgets are...can anyone share some light and what they could be used for in education (or in regular life)?
I have only an elementary knowledge on what widgets are, but basically they are little "extras" you can add to your blog to meet need, add whimsy, or be useful somehow. Typically they are on the sidebar or bottom of a blog and their position doesn't change unless you, as the administrator, move it.
On my personal blog I have a clock displaying the time in Ghana, a Ghana weather widget, a ticker that counts down the days until..., one that displays quotes rests at the bottom. etc.
I have found ones I liked by following links from blogs I've enjoyed and searching for widgets on the web. You add them to blogger by creating the widget on whatever site offers them, copying the html code and pasting it into the part where you customize on Blogger.
